Nobel Prize

Hi readers!

In these days, we have also worked in teams. Each team has collected information about the Nobel Prizes winners of six different subjects, such as physics, chemistry, literature, peace, economics and physiology and medicine. Later, each of us, have chosen one of these winners to write an article. In my article, I am going to talk about Kailash Satyarthi and Malala Yousafzai, winners of the Nobel Peace Prize 2014. I have chosen peace due to that in my opinion, it is one of the most important things to have in a country. And as I am concerned about children and young people situation in the world, I thought explaining you what this two people made was the best choice.

Kailash Satyarthi

Firstly, I would like to start informing you about Kailash Satyarthi. This man was born on 11 January 1954 in the Vidisha district of central Indian state Madhya Pradesh. He is an Indian children's rights advocate and an activist against child labour. During his life, he has acted to protect the rights of more than 83.000 children from 144 countries. His work is recognised through various international honours and awards including the Nobel Peace Prize of 2014, which he shared with Malala Yousafzai. Satyarthi is the fifth Nobel Prize winner for India. I think this video will interest you.

Malala Yousafzai
To continue, I would like to explain you what Malala Yousafzai had done to win the Nobel Prize. This woman was born on 12 July 1997 in Pakistan. She is an activist for female education, mainly known for human rights advocacy. Two years ago, in 2012, Malala boarded her school bus when a gunman asked for her by name, pointed a pistol at her and fired three shots. On the following days, she remained in a critical condition, but soon after her condition improved. She won the National Youth Peace Prize at the age of 17, being the youngest-ever Nobel Prize winner. This video will help you knowing how important her work really is.

As a conclusion, the Nobel Peace Prize 2014 was awarded jointly to Kailash Satyarthi and Malala Yousafzai for their struggle against the suppression of children and young people and for the right of all children to education. From my point of view, I think the work that this two people had made will help to improve the situation around the world. Kailash and Malala had numerous problems during their lives, fortunately they knew how to overtake the difficulties. Lets change the world!
